about

A dark and poetic reworking of one of our first tracks performed as a live jam at the end of a session at J&J Studios. The poem is inspired by the contemporary street scene of a community locked into devices and social media. It illuminates our "orphan culture" where by we are orphaned or dispossessed, via the screen, from our real, living, actual breathing world. The words remind us that our only way back to our true home is by returning to our sensory connection to nature.

lyrics

Diving Bells

Sonic pools of Narcissus, echo chambers
like diving bells into some future
seen and believed.
These beatific soundings, cosmic sentences,
are keeping the herd intact and distracted
like slaves grunting beneath the whip.

These orphan stories are just weaving the pieces.

There were so many gaps,
stories never told or heard
That we grew into these threads in space
with no time nor no home.
So we started building slowly with what we had,
and what we didn’t have we made or made up
or found down deep in ourselves.
And that piece whether true or not would do,
if only to join the stars that we floated through,
if only to join the planets we seemed sewn to.

These orphan stories are just weaving the pieces.

At each tide’s turning
there are bare feet in the sand,
the last grains rolling below the skin.
And these were like changing memories
with the inevitable rise of returning,
again and again and again.
